R. Eugene Torrenti
R. Eugene Torrenti practices in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, taxation, business law, real estate and elder law planning.
His trusts and estates practice includes assisting individuals and families with tax-efficient estate, gift and charitable planning, advising business owners on succession planning, and counseling clients on various forms of asset protection planning for themselves and their families.
Mr. Torrenti’s business law practice includes representing closely-held businesses, limited liability companies and non-profit organizations in entity formation and general business matters. In addition, Mr. Torrenti provides tax counsel in connection with structuring business transactions, and all types of real estate matters, including corporation and limited liability company agreements, as well as buy-sell agreements.
Mr. Torrenti is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Florida, New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Tax Court.
Mr. Torrenti received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980, and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1983, where he was Authorities Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Labor Relations. He received his LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 1988, where he served as Contributing Editor for the Boston University Journal of Tax Law. He has been a lecturer before a variety of civic, professional and private associations, including the Connecticut Association of Professional Accountants, and is a certified instructor for the National Board of Accountants.
Mr.Torrenti is active in numerous charitable and community organizations. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Orange Public Library, the Orange Board of Education, the Board of Governors of the Race Brook Country Club, the Board of Directors of Boys & Girls Village, Inc., and the Supervisory Committee of the GE Credit Union. Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the GE Credit Union. He resides in Orange with his wife Rosanne.
